A new Brent Spence Bridge in Cincinnati will likely be paid for with tolls.
Ohio Governor John Kasich says tolls will be levied on drivers who use the new span over the Ohio River. But the Governor says the tolls would be temporary, until the two-point-five-billion-dollar construction cost is paid off. Construction is expected to be completed in 2022. But Kentucky state lawmakers say area businesses want to see some private funding options first. Federal officials say traffic is over capacity and the bridge is functionally obsolete.
