Governors Urge Renewed Funding For Children's Health Insurance Program

cnn.com

A bi-partisan coalition of governors from Ohio and eleven other states have sent a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to reauthorize funding for the Children's Health Insurance Program.

Funding for the 14 billion dollar program expired on October 1. Since then, some states have relied on unspent funds. Others got a short-term reprieve in the two-week spending bill President Trump signed Friday. Ohio Governor John Kasich and Democratic Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper led the letter-writing effort. The governors say funding the program "without disruption" is something on which they can all agree.
