Grand Jury Indicts Pickup Truck Driver In Fatal Downtown Columbus Crash

Ohio Public Radio

A Franklin County grand jury today  indicted the driver of a pickup truck who allegedly ran a red light and struck a school bus in downtown Columbus on December 12. 62-year-old Terrance Trent faces charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Prosecutors say Trent ran a red light at Broad and High Streets and struck a Groveport-Madison school bus carrying three students. The impact of the crash forced the bus into a nearby crosswalk, hitting and killing two pedestrians. They were 58-year-old Bill Lewis, the City of Columbus' chief mobility engineer, and his intern, 21-year-old Stephanie Fibelkorn.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
