Group Complains About Student Bible Clubs In Some Local Schools

Student bible clubs at some Fairfield County schools have been temporarily suspended after a complaint they are being led by local pastors. The Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation, a watchdog group that advocates for observance of the constitutional separation of church and state, says the Lancaster, Bloom-Carroll, Fairfield Union and Liberty Union-Thurston schools' clubs are violating that clause. The U.S. Equal Access Act allows student-initiated and student-led school religious groups during non-instructional time.
