Group Wants BOE To Investigate Claims By Petition Circulators

A group of clergy and civil rights activists is asking the Franklin County Board of Elections to investigate whether petition circulators for a ballot effort seeking to overturn Ohio's ban on internet cafes are misrepresenting their cause. Circulators have said they are seeking a federal probe into the Florida shooting death of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin. Mark Weaver of The Committee to Protect Ohio Jobs says talking points for petition gatherers focus on employment. Last month, his group complained their signature gatherers had been harassed by opponents.
