A group that has worked successfully to pass medical marijuana laws in other states says it's proceeding with plans for a constitutional amendment in Ohio. The Marijuana Policy Project's proposal lists conditions that would qualify patients to receive state-issued cards, and details the process by which medical marijuana would be grown, tested, and sold. Executive director Rob Kampia says the group won't wait on state lawmakers, who are studying the issue.
Kampia says 15 large scale commercial cultivating licenses initially allowed in the amendment have not been pre-selected. If state officials approve the language in the measure, the group must gather more than 305-thousand signatures by July 6 to qualify for the ballot.
