Grove City Bans Sales Of Dogs From Puppy Mills

The City Council in Grove City last night approved legislation prohibiting pet stores from selling dogs from puppy mills.  The measure requires the sale of only rescue or shelter dogs within the city limits. Animal-rights activists say the ordinance targets Petland, a store chain linked to mass-bred puppies that recently opened in Grove City. A Petland executive says the measure might drive the store out of business, unless the firm can win a court challenge.
