Guilty Plea By Man Accused Of Cyberstalking Sheriff

Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A Columbus man has pleaded guilty to harassing a Delaware County Sheriff for nearly 20 years via letters, emails and websites.

A criminal affidavit filed last year said the harassment began in 1999 when William Young was arrested by a deputy on a menacing charge. Sheriff Russell Martin wasn't identified in the affidavit but confirmed in a statement that he was the deputy in question and has been subject to harassment ever since. Young pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to a charge of cyberstalking. No sentencing date was set.
