A jury has convicted a man of killing former Cleveland Indians outfielder Rodney Craig when both were homeless in downtown Los Angeles, California. Sentencing is pending for 33-year-old Billy Morales. The 55-year-old Craig had tried to stay at a homeless encampment in August but was kicked out by others living there. Craig tried to kick a dog as he left, prompting Morales to run him down, beat him, and stab him. A second defendant pleaded no contest to an assault charge last year. Craig also played for the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox.
