Haslam Says He Won't Sell Cleveland Browns

A spokesperson for Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam says he has no plans to sell the franchise despite legal troubles with the truck stop company he runs. FBI agents say transcripts of secretly recorded calls among Pilot Flying J employees reveal a scheme to defraud trucking companies of fuel rebates. Five members of the sales staff have pleaded guilty to fraud charges and are cooperating with prosecutors seeking to charge company higher-ups. The five say Haslam knew about the scheme, but Haslam says he was unaware of it. If Haslam is indicted, the NFL likely would take control of the Browns.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
