Ohio State University continues its week-long recognition of the 100th anniversary of Woody Hayes' birth.
An 8-foot-tall bronze statue of the legendary football coach goes up today outside the athletic center that bears his name. Former players are also sharing their memories of Hayes. Here's former Columbus Mayor Greg Lashutka.
Rex Kern recalls that Woody's recruiting pitch had as much to do with education as the sport.
Jeff Logan remembers Hayes coaching with the same effort he wanted from his team.
Hayes coached at Ohio State for 28 seasons. He died in 1987. The week of tributes concludes Friday night with a special dinner featuring former players and his son Steven. The university has created a special website documenting his life and coaching.
