Health Officials Delay Vote On Rules Change Governing Farmyard Animals

WCBE Files

The Columbus Board of Health has delayed voting on new rules for people raising farmyard animals after receiving new questions from people who keep chickens and small animals on their properties. At issue are the costs of the rules for people who claim they're providing for themselves. The owners say they would have to build new coops to meet size requirements and permit fees are more expensive than those in neighboring communities. The vote was to take place yesterday.
