Heffner Will Not Face Criminal Charges
Former Ohio Schools Superintendent Stan Heffner will not face criminal charges, despite questions about his work for an educational testing contractor.
Heffner left office last month after the state Inspector General found he was on the payroll of a Texas-based testing firm when he lobbied state lawmakers last year on a bill that benefited the company. The I-G also found Heffner misused his state email and cellphone to communicate with the testing firm. Prosecutors say they believe Heffner acted inappropriately but the evidence did not support the filing of criminal charges.
