A block of High Street in front of the Statehouse was briefly closed this morning as Columbus police investigated a suspicious package. Police closed the road between Broad and State Streets at 9:15 am, and the Columbus Fire Division bomb squad used a robot to examine what turned out to be an abandoned backpack filled with personal items. The street was reopened by 10:15 am.
