Sentencing is pending for a Columbus motorist who pleaded no contest this week to charges of causing the death of a pedestrian in Victorian Village last July. Prosecutors say 26-year-old Brian Gease struck 32-year-old Beth Shapiro on Neil Avenue one evening and then fled the scene. Prosecutors also say Gease was speeding and driving without using his headlights.
