Indicted Former Elections Chief Wants His Pension

Franklin County Board of Elections

Former Franklin County Board of Elections director Bill Anthony is asking a court to release 67 thousand dollars worth of annual retirement payments. Anthony resigned last August after his indictment on criminal charges, and then applied for pension payments from the state. The application was frozen pending the outcome of his criminal case. Anthony has pleaded not guilty to theft in office and tampering with records charges involving bogus time sheets for former fiscal officer Brenna Umbstaetter. She has also pleaded not guilty to the same charges. Both are free on their own recognizance.
