Interim Allen County Sheriff Jimmy Everett died on Tuesday, less than a week after he was appointed. The 62-year-old died after a sudden illness. Former Sheriff Sam Crish resigned in January amid an investigation into a series of personal and legal problems and after acknowledging getting treatment for a gambling addiction.
