Judge Denies Waters Access To OSU Trustee Records

A federal district judge has denied fired Ohio State University marching band director Jon Waters broad access to the board of trustees' records he claimed could help prove his gender discrimination lawsuit. Waters claims trustees were directly involved in his dismissal, making their actions against other employees legally fair game. A decision in his favor could have shed light on the board's nearly impenetrable decision-making processes. Waters was fired last year after an internal investigation concluded he ignored a "sexualized culture" in the band. Waters has denied the charges. He has filed separate discrimination and defamation lawsuits seeking reinstatement and 1 million dollars in damages.
