Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against OHP Filed By Father Of Local DUI Victim

A judge has dismissed a lawsuit alleging a State Highway Patrol dispatcher failed to notify a trooper about a reported reckless driver before a crash that killed a motorist in Chillicothe in July of 2013. The patrol's attorneys argued the lawsuit filed by the father of victim Annie Rooney in the Ohio Court of Claims should be dismissed. The judge ruled the facts were not sufficient enough to sustain the claim. The drunken driver convicted in the crash was sentenced to eight years in prison.
