Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Two Columbus Cops

A Franklin County judge has dismissed a wrongful-death lawsuit filed against two Columbus police officers involved in the 2011 shooting of a man suspected of stealing bicycles.21-year-old Obbie Shepard was killed in a South Side neighborhood after the officers said he reached into his waistband during a foot chase. The judge says the two-year statute of limitations on the lawsuit against officers Joseph Valiski and Donald Worthington has expired. A grand jury declined to issue indictments in the case.
