Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Over Subpoenas Related To 2015 Marijuana Legalization Effort

A federal judge has dismissed a dispute over subpoenas issued in an investigation into last year's marijuana legalization ballot effort. The lawsuit, filed by two people identified as John Doe and John Doe Two, asked the court declare the subpoenas broad and a violation of First Amendment and privacy rights.  The judge says she's been told the matter has been settled.  The lawsuit stems from a probe brought by Republican Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted into the signature collection and ballot petition submission of ResponsibleOhio.   The plaintiff's attorney says the scope of updated subpoenas from Husted is sufficiently narrow to protect her clients' rights. Husted's office says the dismissal helps clear the way for the subpoenas to be enforced.
