Judge Finds Guilty One Of Three Locals Charged With Securities Fraud

A Franklin County judge has found guilty one of the three current or former county residents charged last year with securities fraud. Mary Hackney was indicted last year along with Phillip Curtis and Lovell Jones on 19 counts of taking investment money from clients and using it to cover personal expenses. Prosecutors say the trio operated Hackney Consulting Group. Prosecutors say they solicited money between September 2011 and February 2013 from six investors in Ohio, Kansas and North Carolina. Hackney will be sentenced on November 15.
