A Cuayhoga County judge has ordered new trials for three men convicted of a 1995 slaying because of what she calls malicious suppression of evidence by an assistant prosecutor. Attorneys for 37-year-old Eugene Johnson Junior, 37-year-old Derrick Wheatt and 36-year-old Laurese Glover say a now-retired assistant prosecutor failed to tell the defense about two young eyewitnesses, and ordered police not to turn over their statements. Police gave the statements to attorneys in 2013. Glover says he's happy justice has been served.
Johnson was emotional after the ruling.
