Judge Rejects School District Challenge Of Transgender Restroom Rule

cbsnews.com

A federal district judge has rejected the Highland Local School District's challenge to the Obama Administration's rule on transgender restrooms. Judge Algenon Marbley ordered the Morrow County district to treat an 11-year-old student who is biologically male but identifies as female "as the girl she is." That includes calling the student by a female name and female pronouns and giving the student access to the girls' restroom.   Highland and a religious legal group sought to block enforcement of the rule, claiming it required the creation of alternative restroom accommodations,  and claiming use of the girls' restroom would infringe on other students' rights.
