Kasich Administration To Delay Head Start Funding Policy Change

A plan to stop Ohio's publicly funded preschools from receiving overlapping service payments from multiple sources will be delayed until next school year. Governor John Kasich agreed to a one-year delay after some lawmakers raised concerns the plan would cut services for some of Ohio's poorest children. The plan was designed to stop state and federal payments from the Head Start program. It was expected to save 12 million dollars annually and take effect this school year. Lawmakers say postponing it allows more time to review the policy.
