Kasich Names Porter As Ohio's Top Utility Regulator

State of Ohio

Ohio Governor John Kasich has appointed Andre Porter to lead the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

Porter was a commissioner from 2011 to 2013. He was then named the state's commerce director. In February, Kasich appointed Porter to a five-year term on the utilities commission beginning on April 11. Porter will replace Thomas Johnson, who recently announced he would step down as chair but remain on the commission. Johnson had said he needed to alleviate some demands on his time but planned to serve the remainder of his term, which ends in April 2019. Porter is a former member of Gahanna City Council.
