Ohio's John Kasich is among several governors moving to temporarily halt acceptance of Syrian refugees following Friday's deadly attacks in Paris. They're responding to heightened concerns that terrorists might use refugees as cover to sneak across borders. Spokesperson Jim Lynch says the Republican presidential candidate is writing to ask President Obama to stop resettling Syrian refugees in Ohio because safety and security issues can't adequately be addressed. Kasich also is reviewing steps Ohio might take to stop resettlement. Kasich talked about the Paris terror attacks on the campaign trail this weekend in Florida. Speaking on the Fox Business Network Sunday, Kasich said NATO members should be ready to assist France as that country moves to protect itself against terrorism.
“We better be doing joint planning in terms of the need for military action to destroy ISIS and not only just involve NATO, but of course we would also to want to work with some of our allies in the Middle East, whether it's the Jordanians and the Saudis, but you know we just can't keep waiting.”
Kasich also reiterated his call for boots on the ground and enforcing no fly zones in Syria.
