State senators are not going to rush to approve a house-passed plan that backers say would shut down Ohio’s 800 internet cafes and sweepstakes stores.
Instead, senators say they will deal with the issue in a joint House-Senate panel that’s looking at several gambling-related issues and could take months to make recommendations. Senator Bill Coley chairs the panel. He agrees the storefronts should be regulated more, but he is not endorsing the house-passed plan that could regulate them out of business. Here’s Coley, being interviewed by statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.
