Police in New York State say a former central Ohio resident has pleaded guilty to kidnapping and raping a woman in western New York three decades ago. 66-year-old Gary Smith has been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. He was arrested in West Jefferson last month. Smith fled New York in 1985 before he was to go on trial.
