Komen Cancels Ohio Race
Susan G. Komen for the Cure officials say they are canceling the 3-day charity races in Cleveland and six other cities next year because of a drop in participation.
Komen says "economic uncertainty" has affected participation levels, which have dropped 37 percent over the past four years. The announcement comes more than a year after the Dallas-based breast cancer organization saw intense backlash for its decision to stop giving grants to Planned Parenthood for breast screenings. The funding was restored days later.
