Late Civil Rights Activist Honored By Freedom Center

The late civil rights leader Fred Shuttlesworth and journalist Nicholas Kristof are the eighth and ninth people to be honored by The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati for promoting freedom and human rights.Shuttlesworth endured beatings, arrests and a bombing in Birmingham, Alabama. Shuttlesworth died in 2011 at age 89. He had lived in Cincinnati for nearly five decades. Kristof is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner. The awards will be given on March 2nd.
