Lawmakers Consider Plan Allowing E-Proof Of Insurance

The Ohio House Transportation, Public Safety and Homeland Security committee is reviewing a bill that would allow drivers to show proof of insurance via a wireless device.Drivers are currently required to produce a printed card. There would be restrictions on what information law enforcement officials could view on the devices. The Ohio Insurance Institute says the bill will cut printing and postage costs and increase customer convenience. 24 states have adopted similar rules.
