Lawsuit Against Hamilton County And Morgue Attendant Settled

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

An attorney representing families of three women whose corpses were sexually abused by a Hamilton County morgue attendant and who sued the county for negligence and emotional distress says the families will split $800,000 as part of a settlement agreement.    The lead attorney representing the families in the lawsuit against the county and former county officials said Tuesday that final details are being determined, but the county will pay $800,000. A spokesperson for the county prosecutor's office confirmed an agreement was reached but wouldn't comment further.  Former morgue attendant Kenneth Douglas was convicted in 2009 of violating the corpses in 1982 and 1991.  He also was named in the lawsuit. But the families' attorney says they haven't found Douglas since his prison release.
