Lawsuit Claims Dental Clinics Operating Illegally

A federal lawsuit filed in New York claims Aspen Dental Management and the private equity firm that controls it illegally operate 358 clinics in Ohio and across the country.The suit claims Aspen and Leonard Green and Partners are violating laws requiring clinics to be owned by dentists who actively perform procedures onsite. Court documents say Aspen's owners are de facto employees and/or independent contractors. Aspen says it provides management services and doesn't control clinical care.
