The man who federal prosecutors say led a large heroin smuggling ring with ties to a Mexican drug cartel was sentenced in Columbus Thursday to 21 years in prison. 48-year-old Jose Govea-Jimenez pleaded guilty to several drug-related charges. He was arrested last November. Prosecutors say the ring shipped nearly 16 thousand pounds of heroin to central Ohio and sold it on the streets. Prosecutors say he used drug cartel members to intimidate his dealers.
