African-American state lawmakers have compiled a list of what they want the legislature to accomplish to improve the lives of black Ohioans.

The Ohio Legislative Black Caucus wants lawmakers to pass bills that outlaw credit checks for determining employment, make it easier for ex-offenders to get jobs and a constitutional amendment requiring pre-kindergarten for every four and five year old. The group also wants lawmakers to pass a bill that they say would make it easier to vote. Democratic State Representative Alicia Reese says African- American Ohioans are not doing as well as others.
