Little Brown Jug Winner Shrouded In Controversy

standardbredcanada.ca

The heavily-favored horse named Betting Line captured the Little Brown Jug under a cloud of controversy Thursday, after the discovery of text messages that implied it may have been given an unauthorized supplement. Betting Line won by six lengths in a world record time for 3-year-old pacing colts in the third leg of harness racing's triple crown in Delaware County. The discovery of questionable texts between trainer Casie Coleman and her caretakers prompted the filing of a protest earlier in the day by the trainer of the horse that finished in second place.
