Local Animal Shelter Offers Discounts

The Franklin County Animal Shelter is taking steps to control the dog population. Officials say people coming to collect their strays will be offered discount sterilization surgery. The procedures cost 39-dollars, but people will get discounts on impound, boarding and license fees charged when the pets are recovered. The program targets low-income pet owners who can not afford to spay or neuter their dogs.
