Local Centenarian To Get H.S. Diploma

A 106-year-old Columbus woman will get her high school diploma.The Mount Vernon school board has approved giving Reba Williams her diploma. Williams says she completed high school in Mount Vernon but was denied her diploma because she refused to read her final book assignment. Williams says she read the book once and didn't want to read it again. A retired English teacher approached the board about giving Williams the diploma after reading about her earlier this year.
