Local Charters Want Piece Of CCS Money

Charter school operators in Columbus want to share local funding with public schools.They asked Mayor Michael Coleman's education panel yesterday to get some of the tax money that goes to the Columbus City Schools. The proposal would require changes in state law, which now only funds charters with state and federal dollars.
