Local Chess Instructor Sentenced To 8 1/2 Years In Prison

A local chess teacher was sentenced in Delaware County Court on Friday to 8 1/2 years in prison for fondling two young girls. 62-year-old F. Leon Wilson was convicted last month on two counts of gross sexual imposition. Wilson plans to appeal. He was convicted of fondling the girls in early 2015 at schools in the Bexley and Polaris areas. Wilson noted he passed a polygraph test. His attorney said there was no physical evidence in the case. Last month's jury verdict came in Wilson's second trial. Last February, Wilson's first trial ended in a hung jury. He rejected a plea deal last fall.
