A former Upper Arlington attorney will serve five years probation and perform 240 hours of community service for stealing 67 thousand dollars in death benefits intended for a child. 34-year-old Lindsey Burt was sentenced yesterday after pleading guilty in April. She also surrendered her law license and must make restitution. Prosecutors say Burt was supposed to file paperwork to recognize the child’s father as guardian after the child’s mother died. She instead altered the documents to obtain the payments.
