Local Family Sues Waterpark Over Death Of Relative

The family of a Westerville woman who died after contracting a brain-eating amoeba at a North Carolina waterpark has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the facility.  18-year-old Lauren Seitz died at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in June 2016 from amoebic meningoencephalitis. The lawsuit says Seitz contracted the amoeba after she was thrown overboard while rafting/ The lawsuit claims the center failed to properly chlorinate the water, regulate the water temperature and warn visitors of the possible danger. Facility officials have yet to comment.
