Local Funeral Services Firm Sued For Displaying Wrong Body

americasfuneralflorist.com

A family is suing a Columbus funeral service after their deceased relative's body was misplaced and the wrong corpse was displayed at a private viewing. Relatives of the late Nivina Cargill are suing Smoot Funeral Services, which works out of Edwards Funeral Home on Parsons Avenue, seeking compensatory and punitive damages. The family says says another woman was found in the casket on July 1, and they waited five hours for staff to find and prepare Cargill's body. Smoot has declined comment.
