Local Jobless Rate Fell In February

Central Ohio's jobless rate fell two-tenths of a point in February as compared with January. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says the regional rate of 4.5 percent is the lowest in the state among metro areas. The department credits steady job growth, with 4 thousand jobs added last month. Delaware had the lowest rate of any of Ohio's 88 counties with 3.8 percent. Columbus posted a jobless rate of 4.3. Franklin County's rate is 4.4 percent. The state's current unemployment rate is 4.9 percent.
