Local Landlord Jailed For Probation Violations

A Franklin County judge has sentenced a local landlord to one year in prison for violating his probation by failing to sell his properties.The judge says 73-year-old Sam Vazirani was involved in "sham transactions" that handed off his properties to friends and acquaintances so he could get them back after his court case ended. Vazirani owned the Franklinton home where three people died in a fire on Christmas Eve 2011. Vazirani rented the property after the City of Columbus had ordered the house vacated because of code violations. The judge ordered Vazirani to sell his properties as part of his probation for several code violations.
