Local Man Defrauds Stimulus Program

A Johnstown man has pleaded guilty to charges of defrauding the federal economic stimulus program by collecting 66-thousand dollars for phantom jobs for displaced workers.

Federal prosecutors say 36-year-old Eric Rader submitted false paperwork to a state program making it appear his employer, the Building Trades Institute of Lewis Center, had multiple jobs available in solar-panel installation. Prosecutors say there were no jobs. The state program received stimulus money.
