Local Man Sentenced For Role In Fatal Drug-Related Shooting

Columbus Division of Police

A Columbus man will now serve 32-and-1/2 years in prison for his role in a fatal drug-related shooting. 43-year-old Peter Hunter pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting of 27-year-old Danny Lowe III, which added five years to his sentence. Prosecutors say Hunter and the triggerman, Derrick Wade, robbed Lowe and his girlfriend in 2013 at a West Broad Street motel. Lowe was killed in an exchange of gunfire with Wade, who is serving a 19 year sentence.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
