Local Postal Worker Indicted In Double-Shooting

Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A disgruntled U.S. Postal Service worker accused of fatally shooting his supervisor at the Dublin post office and killing a postmaster last December has been indicted on federal charges.

24-year-old DeShaune Stewart is charged with killing 52-year-old Lance Dempsey at the post office, then killing 53-year-old Ginger Ballard at an apartment complex. Prosecutors say the slayings appear to be retaliation for Stewart's pending dismissal at the time. Prosecutors note Ballard and Dempsy were involved in disciplining Stewart for unspecified on-the-job infractions.
