The Columbus man charged with beating and killing an elderly woman during a robbery attempt will serve 14 years in prison. William Jenkins pleaded guilty Wednesday to an involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of 82-year-old Shirley Fredette. Prosecutors say she died from severe injuries sustained when Jenkins attacked and robbed her in the parking lot of a West side grocery store in September 2012.
